  1. Ben, the reference to cussing sounds familiar but I can’t place where it comes from. I’ve come to realize that’s a guy thing, memorizing every line from every movie you ever see. Or maybe I just don’t have a good memory.

  2. I take that back. When I picked my daughter up from school Friday, she screamed, “Call of Duty!” and put her hands up in the air just like Karen on The Office the night before did. And after her dad let her watch South Park, I had to listen to her mock Chef’s father for weeks. “Three Fitty”. (Please don’t call DHR.) So, I guess females do this too and I must have a horrible memory.

  3. Holy crap. It really and truly is almost time for new episodes of LOST.I just can’t wait to find out what Paolo and Nikki are up to.And I can’t wait for the next adventure of baby Aaron. On the bright side, Locke is gearing up to kick some @$$ and he’ll probably bring Sayid and Jin with him. Those guys just love hurting people.Speaking of our LOSTaways hurting people, who do you think is most capable of kicking some backside? The hitman, the intelligence officer, the warlord, the conman, the Mouse Trap aficionado, SuperKate?

  4. Well, then, ass ass ass ass ass.I was just thinking, Walt was pretty badass for a little kid. The guy could throw knives and possibly project his image. So, he could appear in front of you and then stab you in the back. That’s a messed up kid.

  5. Oh, the specific swears from that episode are from the Thomas Edison episode of the Simpsons. Bart hears Homer swearing and decides to join in. I don’t know if it’s a guy thing or not, but I do spend an embarassingly high percentage of my time quoting from popular fiction. I guess it saves time thinking up original things to say. It got so bad for a while that I would make a reference, then state the Movie/TV Show and the year. Like a bibliography.Palmer, any of those people could kick my ass in a fight. Especially Kate. But I think the scariest was living Eko.

  6. I liked the “biography” segment of the Ben references. it makes me laugh in Goldmember when Goldmember mentions the band that he is referencing. I say you bring it back!!!

  7. I should have known it was from The Simpsons. That show is referenced the most in our house, especially “Remember when I said I’d eat you last?” McBain. And then my daughter corrects my husband with “No, Rainier Wolfcastle plays McBain.” Yes, this is our dinner conversation.

  8. Your daughter sounds like she’s pretty on the ball. Well done!Apropos of this conversation I saw an article on Yahoo! today that was meant to explain the male’s tendency to quote. I guess it’s an easy way to show emotions, but since they’re technically someone else’s emotions the facade of an unflappable dude is maintained. Sounds pretty fishy to me.

  9. i think we do it, because hollywood has come up with better one liners than we can.the biggest compliment one can get, is when Producer Ryan asks you “What is that from?” and you respond with “It is from me…right now.”

  11. No, I missed it. I thought I was going to watch all the Super Bowl, but then I remembered that the hot dogs and hamburgers weren’t going to cook themselves. Lousy slackers.
